Danalynn Williams, a member of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation and the founder of First Nation Phragmites Control, is working with wetland ecologist Dr. Janice Gilbert, founder of the Invasive Phragmites Control Centre, to educate First Nations about how to control phragmites in an environmentally responsible way. Included in this CBC article by Isha Bhargava is an excellent short video of Dr. Gilbert explaining how Phragmites negatively affects natural areas.
