The Lambton Shores Phragmites Group began as a grassroots movement in Port Franks Ontario committed to working together with other organizations and private landowners to restore wetland habitat and beaches and control invasive Phragmites. Currently, control efforts have been initiated on over 120 ha (300 acres). This video describes our success in the coastal wetland located along the Lake Huron shoreline within the Municipality of Lambton Shores and covers ~59 ha (146 ac). The wetland complex has Provincially Significant and Globally Rare designations and includes the only meadowmarsh community on Lake Huron within the Carolinian Zone.
