The Invasive Phragmites Control Centre was in Port Franks this morning tackling a huge monoculture of this invasive reed located on private property on Chicken Island. This particular area is very visible to anyone heading out to the lake and we are so happy that it is being addressed. Thanks to the landowner for letting this work proceed, and to Dr. Janice Gilbert – wetland ecologist – for bringing her crew.
